You know what? I saw this thing the other day, they call it a rose quartz tree. Never heard of such a thing before. It ain’t a real tree, not like the ones we got growing out back. It’s made of some kinda stone, pink like a piglet. They say it’s called rose quartz.
This rose quartz, it’s all pink and cloudy, kinda like a hazy day. This rose quartz tree, it’s not smooth. It got bumps and lines all over it. It’s rough like an old man’s hands that worked his whole life in the field. It feels heavy too, like a good sack of potatoes. And cold, like you just pulled it outta the well in the morning. And they say, this rose quartz, it can scratch glass, not that I’d try it though. I don’t know why you would want to scratch glass, but if you wanted to, I guess it can scratch glass.
They say real rose quartz is soft pink. Not too bright, just a gentle pink. Like the color of the sky right before the sun comes up. Some are light, some are a little darker, but all pink. It’s the same color all over. Ain’t no spots or stripes, just pink, pink, pink. Not clear at all. You can’t see right through it like a window. More like looking through a foggy glass. If it’s too clear, it ain’t the real deal, I reckon.

- Rough, not smooth like a baby’s bottom.
Now, these rose quartz trees, they ain’t cheap. You gotta get them from folks who know what they’re doing. People who get the stones from the right places, places where they dig them up outta the ground. They come in many sizes. I saw some small ones, just a few inches tall, perfect for on a little table. I also saw some big ones, big enough to be a center piece on a table. They say some places got more of this rose quartz than others. Some state called South Dakota, they got a lot of it, apparently. They are proud of their rose quartz.
People make all sorts of things with this rose quartz. I saw these little trees, they call them rose quartz gem trees. They got these little shiny stones all wired up to look like a tree. Some are made with silver wire, some with some other type of wire. They say some are for good luck. Some are for healing. Some are for decoration. People like them, put them in their houses. People buy them for gifts. Give them to friends or family. They say these crystal trees can bring good energy, positive energy or something. I don’t know about that. But they do look kinda pretty.
They make them by hand, these rose quartz gem trees. Each one is different, not exactly the same as the next. They’re unique, like snowflakes, I guess. They put them on a base, made of another kind of rock, I think. They got a trunk made of something called resin. Don’t know what resin is, sounds like a fancy word. These little trees are popular, I guess. People buy them and sell them. I saw some for a few dollars, like a little trinket. Some cost more, like a whole week’s worth of groceries! They got them for sale all over the place. It can be a good gift. They say it’s a spiritual gift for women or men.
I saw all kinds of these rose quartz things. They got little polished stones, they call them tumbled. They got big stones, they call them palm stones. They got raw ones, just like they came outta the ground. All different shapes and sizes. And they got different prices too. These things, they say they got all kinds of meanings. They say they bring peace and love. I don’t know if that’s true, but I wouldn’t mind having a little more peace and love around here. I just think they look pretty. Maybe I’ll get me one of these rose quartz trees someday. Just a little one, to put on my windowsill. Maybe it’ll bring me some good luck.
They call them crystal trees, these things made of rocks. They got different kinds of crystals, not just the pink rose quartz. They got purple ones, yellow ones, some with all different colors mixed together. They call them amethyst, citrine, and seven chakra stones, don’t know what those are exactly. But they sure are pretty, like a rainbow stuck in a rock. I guess people like collecting these things. It is good to know more about rose quartz. You can find these rose quartz trees everywhere.
