Oh, honey, let me tell you about these sparkly stones, sapphire and citrine. They’re somethin’ else, I tell ya. Like two peas in a pod, but different colors, you know?
That sapphire, now, it’s usually blue. A deep, pretty blue, like the sky on a clear summer day. But sometimes, you see ’em in other colors, like pink or yellow. It’s a tough one, that sapphire. Good for scratchin’, I reckon. They say it’s a precious stone, fancy like. People put it in rings and such, you know, all shiny and sparkly. That sapphire, it’s a real looker, that’s for sure.
Now, that citrine, it’s a whole different story. It’s yellow, like the sun. Or maybe like a lemon. A happy kind of stone, that citrine. They say it’s good for you, brings good luck and all that. I don’t know about all that, but it sure is pretty. Not as tough as the sapphire, though. You gotta be a bit more careful with it, I’d say. They make all sorts of pretty things with it, earrings, necklaces, you name it.
You put those two together, sapphire and citrine, and you got yourself a real show. Like a sunset, maybe, blue and yellow, all mixed up and pretty. I seen some jewelry like that once, a necklace with blue and yellow stones. It was somethin’ to behold, I tell ya. Made my old eyes water a bit, it was so pretty.
They’re both special in their own way, these two. That’s what I think. Like people, you know? All different, but all special in their own way. Some are tough like that sapphire, some are sunny like that citrine. But they all got their own kind of beauty, don’t they?
I remember one time, I saw a ring, it had a big ol’ blue sapphire in the middle, with little yellow citrines all around it. Looked like a little flower, it did. I thought to myself, “That’s the prettiest thing I ever did see.” But it was probably expensive, too expensive for the likes of me. But a girl can dream, can’t she? This sapphire is very good with yellow citrine.
There are other stones, too, of course. Lots of ’em. Red ones, green ones, all sorts of colors. But these two, sapphire and citrine, they just seem to go together. Like bread and butter, you know? Or like an old married couple, bickerin’ sometimes, but always there for each other. They are different in their own way, but that makes them special.
- Sapphire is tough, usually blue.
- Citrine is sunny, usually yellow.
- They look real pretty together.
- Lots of other stones out there, too.
I ain’t no expert on these things, mind you. Just an old lady, sharin’ what I seen. But I know what I like, and I like those two stones. They make me happy, just lookin’ at ’em. And that’s somethin’, ain’t it? To find somethin’ that makes you happy, just by lookin’ at it. That’s a gift, I reckon.
So, if you ever see a sapphire and a citrine together, you take a good look. And you think about what I said. About how they’re different, but how they go together so well. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll see the beauty in ’em, too.
These stones, they’re like little pieces of the earth, ain’t they? Little pieces of somethin’ bigger than us. Somethin’ old and strong and beautiful. And sometimes, it’s nice to have a little piece of that, to hold in your hand, or to wear around your neck. A little reminder, you know? A reminder that there’s beauty in the world, even in the little things. These sapphire and citrine are something like this.
You know, I had a friend once, she had a whole box full of these stones. All different kinds. She’d let me look at ’em sometimes. We’d sit there, on her porch, and she’d tell me all about ’em. Where they came from, what they were called, all that. I didn’t understand half of it, but I liked to listen to her talk. And I liked to look at those stones. They were like little treasures, they were. I think sapphire is hard, and citrine is soft, but they are all beautiful.
She’s gone now, my friend. But I still think about her, and those stones, sometimes. Especially when I see a sapphire or a citrine. It’s like a little memory, you know? A little spark of somethin’ good. Maybe the yellow citrine means happiness and the blue sapphire means the sky or the sea. They are all good.
These stones can be made into all sorts of things, you see. And you can put them together in different ways to make something special. Like a ring, or a necklace, or a bracelet. And when you see that ring, you can see that it’s made of two different stones. Those are sapphire and citrine. They are two materials put together, but still one ring.
So, yeah, sapphire and citrine. Two pretty stones. Two different stones. But they go together real nice. Like two old friends, sittin’ on a porch, talkin’ about the old days. That’s what they remind me of. And that’s a good thing, I reckon. A real good thing.
