So, I recently got into this whole amethyst thing. I’ve always liked how they looked, but I never really knew much about them, you know?
First, I went and got myself a bunch of raw amethyst stones. I wanted the real deal, not those polished ones. I wanted to see them in their natural state, all rough and rugged.
The first thing I did was just look at them, turning them over in my hands. I noticed the color was a big deal. Some were this really deep, rich purple, while others were kind of lighter. I figured the darker ones were probably better, but I wasn’t sure.
Then I started doing some reading. Turns out, I was right! The best amethyst is the deep purple kind. Not too dark though, or it ends up looking black in dim light, and who wants that?
- I learned about the different grades of amethyst. There’s like AAAA, AAA, AA, and so on.
- The AAAA ones are the top-notch, super clear, and deep purple ones.
- The lower grades have more imperfections and are lighter in color.
I spent hours sorting through my stones, trying to figure out which ones were which grade. It was actually pretty fun, like being a gem detective or something. I definitely think I have some AAA amethysts.
My Takeaway
This whole experience has been really cool. I feel like I’ve learned so much. It was a journey. Now, I appreciate these amethyst stones on a whole new level. It’s not just about how they look anymore. It’s about their quality, their rawness, and the whole process of figuring it all out. I feel like I could talk about amethyst for hours now! The whole process was so fun and I learned a lot of interesting stuff.
